The inspiration for this project was quarantine and was based on Drake's hit song " Hot Line Bling ". Throughout the months of quarantine, Alessandro and I have been really bored at home with nothing to do. Not being able to see your friends gives you a sense of loneliness which is what the song is about. As portrayed in the solemn tone in our voice, Alessandro and I portray a feeling of exasperation and solitude. When we say " You can only call me on cellphone" that lyric means that the only way for us to communicate is through our phones. This song is mostly just about suffering from quarantine from March to the end of October. I grew by overcoming the struggles of quarantine and learning how to make a parody song of it. Some struggles that I encountered are finding the lyrics for the song. We needed to make the song make somewhat sense and match the tone of the original song. In order to do this, we needed to think back to all the problems we had past quarantine. The first line of the song was the first thing we came up with because it made the most sense to say that communication was only through the phone. One thing that I would change is the quality of the sound, and the pace of the song so it matches better with the original sound. One other thing I would change is the volume on one of the voices because one voice seems louder than the other. The way I would probably change these things would be to raise the actual volume or speak louder to the mic and to record our voice with the right pace of the song. I learned how to mix and remove vocals effectively with what I learned. I am most proud of how we removed the vocals because it seemed like it worked really well. I can use this skill in other songs to produce other funny parodies. I will probably use this application to mix sounds within my film or to create voice-overs for other videos. This project shows how you can mix creativity with actual song lyrics and to make it your own.
